How to fund raise for Pro Patria Museum?
One of the most valuable gifts you can give this cause is convincing your family, friends and those in your networks to contribute and by spreading and asking them to spread our appeals viral.
Monthly Re-occurring Contributions
This is seen as the most convenient for donors and most valuable form of contribution for the Pro Patria Museum. It allows them to budget based on a guaranteed income and plan accordingly.
This can be done by selecting the monthly options in:-
· PRO PATRIA MUSEUM BACK A BUDDY campaign https://www.backabuddy.co.za/.../building-pro-patria-museum
· Setting up a monthly payment on your online banking platform.
· Arranging a debit order.
Once-Off Contributions
Contributing once-off lump sum into the Pro Patria Museum bank account or doing so using the Back a Buddy platform above.
Veterans and other Associations
We have 30 registered Veterans Associations a well and many Facebook groups dedicated to this era. Many of these are unit or year based. The veterans in these association have many friends within their networks.
Theatres
There are many theatres around the country. Almost all of them welcome fundraising events. Some even have an option on their websites. They put on an extra show and give you the tickets at a reduced price and you sell at the retail rate or even below retail. Your job is to invite your entire network to fill the venue. You can do this more than once.
Rotary, Lions, and Round Table & similar
Ask these organisations to dedicate one (or more) fundraisers to the Pro Patria Museum per year. These are people who are well experienced in fund raising and already have charitable hearts.
Motor Cycle Clubs
Motor Cycle clubs are often founded by veterans who value the camaraderie and brotherhood that exists between veterans. They are also disciplined, structured and well organized and often get behind or plan charitable fund raisers. Appeal to them to do an annual fund raiser for the Pro Patria Museum.
Social Clubs
Ask sports clubs, wine clubs, book clubs, food clubs, beer clubs, coffee clubs, etc. to organise fund raisers. Golf days, Fun days, Competitions, Auctions, High Tea, etc. Appel for sponsorships from businesses in your area.
Nationality Clubs
People with heritage or culture from many nationalities served during this era. Portuguese, Greek, Italian, British, German, Indian, Zulu, Coloured, Rhodesian etc. There are Hellenic, Germanic, Portuguese, Italian clubs and many other and communities who may be willing to organise fund raisers for the Pro Patria Museum.
Schools & Alumni (Old Boys Clubs)
Every veteran attended a school. Many distinguished themselves in a variety of ways and most are proud of, or cognisant of the need to preserve their history. Honouring those that came before them, by helping fund a museum dedicated to them is a great way for schools to contribute to preserving their history.
